The song was written by Max Martin and Herbie Crichlow and recorded in Stockholm in late December 1994 and early January 1995, immediately after the band finished 'We've Got It Goin' On' — a session that wrapped two days ahead of schedule, leaving studio time to spare. Because Nick Carter, then 14, was going through puberty and could not yet record his parts, Brian Littrell sang both verses on the original version.
