Like the brostep subgenre it helped define, 'Bangarang' derives its harmonic identity from timbre and motion rather than chord changes. Skrillex wrote and produced 'Bangarang' as the lead single for his EP of the same name, co-writing the lyrics with rapper Sirah, who had previously collaborated with him on 'Kyoto'.
