He's a Pirate

The harmonic language of 'He's a Pirate' is deceptively simple yet supremely effective. Hans Zimmer was initially asked to compose the full score for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, but was simultaneously committed to scoring The Last Samurai. He delegated the assignment to his colleague Klaus Badelt at Remote Control Productions. However, Zimmer ended up writing many of the film's core themes himself, including an early version of 'He's a Pirate,' which became the signature piece of the entire franchise.
